R1 Thermo Unit
My 2001 R1 didn't come with the thermo unit, so was wandering two things.
A does anyone have one, and
B what does it look like, pics would be helpful. Thanks guys

The thermo unit can be found in the R1 radiator. Top right when looking at the rad from the fan side. It operates both the fan and the water temp on
the clocks.

Thats what i've been told, but don't have a pic of one or the rad to take it out of though.

You can see it on Rich Miles site click here then go to 16 May 02 Cooling. Top pictures show the thermo unit
in the rad. The top right pic shows it best.
It looks pretty much like any screw in sender unit.
If I could get a blank for it you could have mine as it is redundant in my new engine setup 00/01 rad 02/03 engine.

Got the same issue. The local Yamaha dealer sells them new for about £26 plus the usual.
Does anyone know what size hole does it fits ?

thats great thanks, at least i know what i'm after now. may just get one from Yamaha if thats what they cost, not too bad really. once its
arrived i'll let you know the thread size too.
