K & N

Does anyone know if you can get a replacement filter for a K&N bolt on filter or do I need to buy the whole lot again?

Cheers
Mark

I thought you washed them out in petrol, it's an ecological thing.

yours, Pete.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Yup, if it's dirty, clean it (proper cleaning fluid and filter oil can be purchased from most Msport outlets).
If its damaged, the whole lot will probably need to be replaced.....

Dont just build it.....make it!

I would like nothing better than to clean it.

The slight problem being it is somwhere on the M1, it flew off whilst I was on a small journey

I have the top and bottom part but just wondered if I could get a new filter part.

Mark.

You should never use petrol or other solvents to clean cotton gauze filters, it makes the fibres sticks together and flow considerably less air.

The proper maintenance kit from K&N uses a detergent based cleaner that you wash out with plain tap water before drying and re-oiling. The kit inclusing the cleaner and the proper oil is only around £9.
