Yeh I'm using the 1.8CVH even though people throw up or pretend to be sick.
SO far not to many problems. I am in the middle of throwing away the inlet manifold to twin 40's.
Have had a bit of the problem as the engine has a semi intelligent ECU.
Thing and I don't know if I'll get it working correctly or have to change the distributor yet. But we'll see.
I guess if your using the Standard inlet manifold it would be quite easy.
Apart from that every thing else from the CVH is the same.
As I've changed the inlet manifold I have also found that the thermo stat housing from a fiesta 1.6cvh fits the 1.8CVH head as the 1.8's
is built into the Inlet as well.
What site no doubt I will post question problem and solutions about this engine.
Getting to late to change now!.

Scot's do it better in Kilts.

Driving
Yes , the car was finished in 2000 , and I've been running with the standard (very small Pierburg carb) , it's a smooth flexible engine
with plenty of torque .
doesn't rev very high ,so a high ratio diff is handy, I've put a 3.54 in this summer.
I have now got round to changing the carb ,with an adaptor plate cut by 'Merlin', i've put a Weber 32/36 DGV on , and initial
impressions are good.
People seem to have a lot to say about NOT using this engine ,not many have driven one , and what ever your opinion you could not describe a
'Locost' with an 1800 CVH engine as SLOW.
