Close shave..engine near knacked

Hi all,

Today has been one of those days where not a lot goes right. Three studs of the exhaust manifold had snapped and on wenesday went to MK where Phil( great guy) got them out for me. Refitting the cylinderhead and only two cylinders were firing - changed plugs and all was ok. suddenly while fiddling with the twin weber 40's, engine oil starts pissing out like mad from underneath near the oil filter or manual fuel pump. i thought the worst.. i suspect it maybe the spacer between the fuel pump and block , i'm not sure. I'm out tomorrow to buy a BRAND NEW spacer.
The good thing is I'm glad all this has happened in my garage instead of the open road.

The moral of the story is new parts that cost pennies can save being stranded with a lump of scrap metal by the side of the road.

..will keep you posted.

Steve
