Blacktop rebuild

Is it wise to replace head bolts, bigend and crankshaft bolts when rebuilding a blacktop engine.

Defo head bolts, not sure about the others, BUT, I would go for a set of ARP ones for peace of mind.

Any stretch to yeild bolts will need to be replaced.

head and con-rods

If you go to town and do a full rebuild you will be looking at the thick end of £600.

New engines can be had for not much more.

Dave,
A blacktop with loads of life can be picked up for less than 150 notes if your canny with the dough. Why go to the trouble of a rebuild? Get one jazz up the paint job and slam it in. If it's shite (unlikely) then another 150 smackers... Scary rebuild talk costs big cahunas in comparison.

IMHO
