A Haynes manual from Halfords would be my first port of call, they only cost like £12

Local ford dealer just changed my Cam belt on the puma for £250.

1.7vvt

seemed a fair price to me.

puma belt

Dont think the tis cd tells you but make sure the cam pulley/vct is in the rest position, you wont do any damage if its not and it will start and wont rev very well but when you switch off it wont restart. Also use a sturdy crank pin that will take the torque when you fit the new crankshaft bolt (dont reuse old one).

Cheers guys, rung around my local area and can't get a figure of less than £450 even from the independents. Thats why I am doing it myself

Thanks for the tip Jones.. would you recommend replacing the water pump at the same time?

Cheers

Bob
