Can someone measure some clutches for me please?

Can someone measure up a couple of clutch friction plates for me please?

In particular the 220mm CVH clutch. Basically need the ID of the friction material and the thickness when new, and also confirm that they have the 1"x23 spline drive.

Secondly the std pinto 215mm clutch. What is the ID and thickness of the friction material?

Cheers,
David

Think I have found the answer, but could someone confirm?

I think I need the same friction plate as people fit when using zetecs.

The mk1 mondeo 1.6 and 1.8 clutch. 220mm diameter with 1"x23 spline centre. Quinton Hazell number C1189AF.

Could someone just measure the ID of the friction material for me please. Someone must have one sitting there waiting to be fitted!

What combo are you using?

Don't have either of those plates knocking around sadly...one went in the bin; the other scrapped due to wear..

Will be using a standard 1.8 duratec cover plate which is 220mm.

Looking for a 220mm friction plate to fit, and just want to check the early zetec one is going to be right...

Cheers,
David

Given the Ford lienage, i'd be very surprised if it wasn't compatable...unless there's a Dual Mass Flywheel involved which complicates things somewhat (as the springs normally in the friction plate are now in the flywheel..)

Well I bought a zetec clutch in the end, if it doesnt fit, sure someone will find it useful...

The duratec's an oddball because its a mazda/ford unit which is why it doesnt bolt straight to a ford gearbox.

Bargain (I think)

£30 got me a brand new zetec clutch complete with hydraulic slave cylinder which should fit the duratec rwd bellhousing too!

Looks like the zetec clutch plate will fit the duratec flywheel too.

A bit better than £350+ for steel flywheel and AP clutch!
