radiator mounting, rubbers?
Good morning all, just wondering if i need to use mounting rubbers with my polo radiator on what is essentially a haynes roadster front end?
If search and found a few pics of people mounting radiators, but some have used rubbers and some havent, so which is the way to go?
If rubbers are the way to go what ones do i get...?
Also, has everyone mounted using the 4 holes on the back, or the two holes at the top and the two pins on the bottom?

people tend to just mount them solidly, without rubber.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

In the past the matrix used was very fragile but modern aluminium ones are very strong and as above most are solidly mounted. However it's not
difficult to do so why not? depending on the actual radiator you could use mini rubber bobbins
this company has loads of mounts - homepage
linky
and this is the type I'd use - linky
here's another supplier who you can buy online - linky

I've used rubber mounts for mine to avoid any issues with vibration causing metal fatigue. It might not be so much of a problem with modern ally
rads but for the sake of a couple of grommets it's worth doing IMHO.
Cheers,
Craig.
