Pinto alternator and mount

I've now got the engine mounts made and the steering issues I had recently resolved (I think ). Now I need to sort out the dreaded alternator mounting

Is it possible to use the sierra one and make a new bracket, or does it need a different alternator and bracket?

Cheer,
JB

I used the standard sierra alternator but did have to make a bracket, have a look through my gallery towards the end for pictures.

Just knocked this up, just gives you an idea, and from memory isn't that far from been far from the actual size of it.

Basically get a bit of 5mm strip, drill 2 holes where the block threaded holes already are, cut off two smaller pieces of the strip and drill a hole in each of the same size as the long bolt that goes through the bottom of the alternator housing, bolt these in place using the aforementioned bolt and line up the alternator pulley with the rest of the pulleys and then mark off where the little bits of strip are along the long piece, take it all apart and then weld the little bits where the markings are. Job done! Ish

Cheers

Rich
