Is this the correct Zetec waterpump

Does anyone know which way the vanes should angle on the back of an escort water pump?

I have been sold one, but it looks to me like they should turn the other way round.

This the new pump- With a straight outlet as an escort should.

This is the direction of the vanes.

I have been told this second pump is a 2.0 Mondeo one as the vanes go the other way.

Also, the outlet is angled back.

Is my new pump a pukka 1.8 escort one????

looks like it is you also need a new ribbed pulley for it and possibly one for the alternator

Life is like a bowl of fruit, funny how all the weird looking ones are left alone

if the vanes are the opposite way round to the mondeo one, then it is the correct one, and you wil need aribbed pully off eary fiesta/escort

Thanks Guys.

The one on the car was the same as the mondeo one, but was obviously being run in the wrong direction (crankpump/alternator) and on the wrong (smooth) pulley.

I have been rebuidling/remaking the car since buying it in December and it was sold with a knackered bottom end.

I can see that parts selction was not a strong point, for the last owner.
