R1 sump gasket

I keep getting a slight oil leak from one corner of my sump. Tried 2 gaskets now still with a leak. Local bike shop recommended using Wynns gasket maker. Should I use this along with a new paper gasket (I've already got one) or just use it on it's own?

I want to get it right this time, the oil is too bloody expensive to have it ending up on the garage floor!

Are you sure its from the sump gasket?

I get some oil/fluid forming as drops on the sump, but it appears it comes from the crankcase gasket and then it collects on the sump.

Double check the sump isn't damaged in any way (on the bottom).

I had a slight leak on mine and assumed it was coming from higher up (or my oil pressure take off) and running down to the lowest point on the sump.

Finished the sump off on the recent Alps trip (v good), put on the spare sump and now zero leaks.

If you are using the Yamaha gasket smear all the mating surfaces with a bit of the engine oil and you should be able to re-use it if you need to drop the sump in the future.

Thanks guys I'll have a go on Friday. I'd never considered it could be a leak from higher up.
