Airbox for CA18DET

Is there any reason why a new airbox, one that might fit under my bonnet, can't be fabbed for this engine? I have no idea if this is done or not. It is a turbo with EFI.

I've only seen them for bec's with TB's or carbs.

should be no problems at all. They fit different airboxes / induction kits when that engine is in the original car ( 200sx) so shouldn't make a difference being in a different car

If anyone sees anything that would replace the plenum, can you forward me a link, please? I haven't seen anything as yet.

I was just wondering if it was even possible, because there is a lot of stuff attached to the plenum, including the throttle. The ones I see are just different air filters. Mine already goes right into the turbo.

Are we talking the airbox (where the filter lives) or the plenum chamber (between the throttle and the head)?

If its the plenum you're on about, then i've seen a very nice one made for a CA18ET using the bottom half of the original manifold, and an aluminium "box" made up and welded on top. There's nothing really special about the CA18DET engine, so same rules should apply. Could you not get some cut out of the runners, and it rewelded up?
