Heater Feed / Return pipes
Hi getting to the plumbing stage and was wondering what to do with the feed from the engine, pinto, to the heater and the return.
Can I just blank them off at the cylinder head and water pump connections, don't really want to run a hose from pump to head.

Are the heater connections for the pinto not on the inlet manifold and the pump?
But yes, you could just blank them off, or connect them together...

Yeah the connection is on manifold but that is only a port to the cylinder head.
Just bothered about the result of losing "some" flow.

I cant see how that would be an issue...
I have a heater valve on my heating circuit and it spends most of its time closed... it has a tiny tiny bypass duct in it that is about the size of
a matchstick.....
Other than that, its closed... and I cant see it passes that much water

but the air trapped MAY be an issue.... ...maybe blank the manifold and use a bleed valve or something to get rid of most if the air?
nothing is impossible
everything is possible

Ford Pinto heaters were air blending heaters the coolant flows constantly though them acting as the by-pass cooling circuit. You must
have the by-pass circuit connected

MMmmm Thats what was worrying me, wasn't sure how the coolant would flow round the cylinder head as the only way in & out with the heater
circuit blocked would be the block to head ports.
Pipe to water pump it is then.
