TD04 Turbo Centre Housing Q?

Hi,
Doesanyone know how to rotate the centre housing on a TD04 turbo?

I took the clamp off, and removed the large circlip, but couldnt get the exhaust housing to turn.

Also, im not sure its possible anyway, as the inlet housing has a location stud, which will prevent that from turning.

Any ideas? Ive currently got the oil feeds horizontal, which i know is incorrect but have no other option, unless i want to make a 90 degree elbow adapter for the manifold.

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

theres a little peg you need to grind off - you need to seperate them , grind it off , put them back together , rotate .

DONE .

Chavs to the rescue! ;-)

Looks like the hot side (turbine side) should just pull apart. The cold (compressor) side indeed has a pin / snap ring arrangement. I'm guessing you'll need to clock both?

No, because of the actuator linkage.

Ivegot both connected for now, but they are horizontal, which will lead to heat soak and glazing inside the centre bearing eventually (apparently).

Ive got an accumulator that i could install, but i didnt want to install this or the intercoolers until i was sure the ecu would deal with the additional power.

If it doesnt, then ill go MS on stock equipment as i know that works. From there, i can return to the current project, and play with the fuelling and ignition.
