Idle Valves & Megasquirt Question

Advice please......I am installing Megasquirt to my Zetec which has R6 TB's. MS has ouputs/inputs for Idle valves but as I'm not using stock equipment I don't have any. Can I do away with the idle valve and control idle in another way through the software? How have others done it? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Matt

If you are controlling spark as well then you can use cold idle advance to increase the idle speed a little when cold.

Personally I never bothered with idle valves even when running fuel only on the pinto. Just means it runs a little rougher when cold, but only for a couple of minutes.
