help with mondeo tdci please
can any one help out with these problems. driving along all ok put my foot down 70ish mph using most of the revs to get there and it just cut. out so
pulled over restarted all ok 10 miles later same thing but didn't cut out just went in to limp mode. got it home put on scanner 2 fault codes
p1211 injector control pressue sensor above/below desired and p0251 injectoin pump metering control malfuction. any help please.

Sounds like it's either losing fuel pressure or it thinks it is. Can you do live readings with your scanner to see what readings the fuel rail
sensor is giving when it dies.

I had similar problems when accelerating hard engine would go into limp mode. Turning off and on again sorted it.
Turned out to be fuel filter. Prime the filter when replacing it or you will be turning the engine over for ages before it catches.

Had this one 2 weeks ago turned out to be fuel pressure sensor on the fuel pump

couple of things..
1. fuel filter is blocked
2. faulty pressure sensor
3. pressure relief valve is opening too soon.
a new fuel filter is only about £8 so worth changing anyway..

Is it a 2001? It's common for the connector on the fuel pressure sensor to cause that problem on those.
