i'm going to cry...

FINALLY got my exhaust sorted. got the new flange welded on, and he's done a great job. exactly what was needed.

only, the exhaust has to go down the transmission tunnel, i tacked it up and it fit properly, on the day i took it to him, the tacks broke, so assume he broke it off completely, and used mine as a guide. problem is now, the exhaust hits the gearbox what can i do? will heating it up allow me to pull it out a bit?

Yes heating it up will make the steel more malleable, and you should be able to bend it a bit. If it is stainless then it will be harder to bend than mild steel

depending on how much you need to reshape it, why not try cutting into it with a thin cutting disc, on the inside of the required bend, pulling it round, then welding that back up?, or the outside and pulling it shut to straighten it a bit?

I have shaped some pretty complex bends just using this method, lots of messing about, but when you dont have bending facilities, its all I could do

heavy is good, heavy is reliable, and if it breaks, hit them with it

will have to ask the guy that welded it if he's got an oxy torch to heat it with, its quite a lot of bending needing done. really not happy, having too much trouble with this bit
