flywheel

Just noticed a slight notch in my flywheel. How much difference does this make to the flywheel in during operation. Quite worried since it would be getting up to 7000 rpm. Should i change it?

I think that a picture showing the notch would be handy, is it big, is it small, is it just a scratch. Ray

To make a car go faster, just add lightness. Colin Chapman - OR - fit a bigger engine. Chippy

Loads of older/high mileage cars have flywheels with grooves in and still work, however you will not be happy if you fit it.
It can be skimmed flat or you can look for one in better condition.
I like many people on here have built a car and have regrets about what we should have done.
Currently i have my car in bits doing things I should have done right first time.
You know there is a problem your not happy with, it's not a big problem, you'll fell better if you deal with it know.
You know it makes sense

looks like an edge ground down or is an edge ground down? if it looks deliberate it could be done to balance it.
