Which Engine to race with?

I'm new to this, but have the intention of building a car to go racing next year (2012 season).

I've read through all the rules and regs on the 750mc webpage, and it states that the engine must be a 1300 XFlow ford unit.

How do people race with CVH's, Duractecs and zetecs? Can someone clarify?

Sorry if this is an obvious answer but as i said - new to the kit car scene!

You have been reading the regs for the Locost 'one make' formula which are very tightly controlled in order to keep the racing very competitive, and it works very well! For this formula you have to run with a xflow.

If you want to run with hotter engines then you will have to go with rgb for bike engines, or kit cars with similar regs but for car engines. Both of these allow any kit cars and now one-offs too. This is what I have done and will be again this year; running with a Locost initially with a 1600 cvh now with a duratec.
