Off the shelf exhaust or suggestions...

Hello All,

I have a track day booked at Abingdon for 15th April and I am worried about the db level of my Locost 7. Max allowed is 100db.

I am having her tested tomorrow but if she is too close for comfort I will need to get a quieter system sharpish which kinda rules out online ordering unless anyone knows different. I curently have an 18" silencer but could easily fit a 2 foot one under the protector if needed.

Does anybody know of an exhaust supplier in the Reading area that is likely to have something that would fit? A long shot I know but... Alternatively any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers in advance.

David.

perhaps worth picking up a "dB killer" just do an e-bay search (basically a doo-hicky that you stick up the exhaust to reduce the noise should you fail the test).

When I did Abingdon my noise score was way down on my SVA noise, but maybe the meter was not working properly that day.

Thanks for that! Yep I had been looking on ebay at the mufflers but I have read such mixed reviews about them I was worried I might be wasting my money...

Hopefully I will be surprised tomorrow and she is quieter than she sounds!

The db killer is small, cheap and simple to fit, you can take it with you and fit it in under 30 mins if required

Don't know about db killer power killer would be a more apt name for them. BUT having said that and you've paid a lot of money out for a trackday, it will get you out of the poo but expect to be down on power.

enjoy yourself

Might be worth giving CBS a call to find out delivery time on one of these.

There not cheap but they do work and when you factor in the cost of a track day if you find out your to loud even with the Db (power) killer it's worth it if you intend on doing more track days.

Just tested and she is 102db! The divided opinion such as the above about db killers has made me not want to go that route so will phone CBS tomorrow for a new silencer I think...
