About half way down this topic, Gear Calc
Link
You pick your engine, diff and tyre size and it works out top speed in each gear. If you want to see how fast you are at 6000 rpm, then adjust the
rev limit on the options on the data sheet.

Don't listen to them boat anchor boys, they don't know what they're on about.
Besides all they'll see of your car is the back of it as it disappears into the distance

Nah, it's just the friendly banter between the BEC and CEC camps, no one gets hurt. and to be honest they're both right.
BTW 6000 rpm on a BEC, isn't that the equivalent of idle on a CEC, not suprised you aren't going anywhere fast redline is up in the
10k's isn't it?
Now if you want an argument start a 'which size wheels are best' thread

Yep, 17" wheels definitely look the best.
I wouldn't be too concerned about the top speed. Its not how fast it goes but how fast it gets there...................

Do you mean 3.38? Does it have limited slip internals?

If its just a standard open diff, I'd say it was expensive. If it has limited slip built in, I'd say it was reasonable.
You can buy a complete car with 3.38 diff for less than £100. Strip it, flog what bits you don't need and scrap the rest. (If you have the space
and the inclination)

15" wheels are definately better, especially on a BEC where the whole idea is less weight!

Jealous? me? never
It seems to me that us CEC users are looked down on by a lot of you BEC users, however I take great pleasure in using a 30 year old (boat anchor)
engine and making it go fast.
I think that bike engines are far too common nowadays, and I like to be different
So to you young Adam
