Engine Number
Any one know where the engine number is stamped on a 1.6chv from a mark II xr2. Was E Plate
Ford say it is on near the exahuast maniold on the block.
I can see anything - There are some cas numbers like 16 and J but no engine number.
Does this engine have a engine number?
Scot's do it better in Kilts.

I think a lot of ford engines used the last digits of the original vehicles VIN number as their engine number. Or at least so i was told at our Ford
garage when I went in to get the bits using the engine number on my pinto...
