38 dgas set up

I am having problems getting my engine to run correctly, i am running a 2l pinto with 38 dgas 27a and an aldon ignitor with an aldon flamethrower coil.

It will sometimes have a foot long flame out of the exhaust or blow back throught the carb.

I have tried just about everything i can think of, valve timing is spot on and igntion timing is set at 6 bdtc and the mixtures are about 1 and half turns out.

Anyone with any ideas would be very useful.

Thanks
Richard

The DGAS i had which came off a std RS2000 (from what i can gather!) had the following jets:

Main jet - 135
Air Correctors - 185
Emulsion tube - F50
Idle Jet - 55
Pump Jet - 55
Needle valve - 250

Worth checking yours are near this, otherwise its likely to still be jetted for the V6, in which case it will be too rich and you will get some spectacular flames on the overrun.

Try some more advance - start at 12 degrees if you are getting flames out of the exhaust it sounds too retarded - the burn is still taking place whilst the exhaust valves open.
