rs2000 engine seized?

Hi my mate has a ford escort rs2000 2ltr l reg, His engine has just seized, Is the dohc bottom end and block out of the sierras the same, I was going to pull an engine out of a sierra and put the head on?

From what i recall they are different engines...

It sounds like its the same block. just with 16v head.

Not my opinion, just something i found.

THe brief description of the I4 in the front of the Burton Power catalogue seems to say they are the same except for the heads.
