Adding turbos, what about sump size?

Right, you know what I'm doing

Do I need to increase the volume of my sump, or just ensure that I don't let oil level drop lower than say half inch above it's current low mark.

Once I know oil pipe lengths, I can calculate volume, and add that in, sort of thing.

Or should I overfill by same amount

Overfilling by the same amount sounds like the easiest option, as long as the oil doesn't drag on the crank when starting you should be ok. The only other thing to watch is oil temp. You know all this crap already, why are you asking? Bigger volume is good though, as if you didn't know. Do you just want reassuring into the easier path or do you want to do it properly? Once you get going you'll want to build a bigger sump so you know yourself that it'll be ok. Why bother putting turbos on it to skimp on the oil volume to save the effort of making a bigger sump?

It was something that occured to me t'other day, and I thought I'd just check, as I know there's a few on here who've turbo'ed R V8's.

Eventually, I'll modify a sump, to give more ground clearance, but that is low on the list at the mo.

Easiest route is fine by me Dragging would have been my main concern too!

I've also got to look into oil coolers. More complications

Does the turbo(s) oil return into the sump or higher up in the block? If it's returning to the sump and you're overfilling it be very careful that the oil level doesn't go above the level of the oil return pipe, it needs to have as little resistance to flow as poss to stop oil backing up in the turbo.

Correct (plus a bit of peace of mind)

Martyn, no idea just yet, but it will be freeflow return to sump with entry as high as I get it.
