What about taking off a rear arch and getting a sheet of 10mm thick mdf and drawing round the rear arch and making a spacer? It can always fall off afterwards

I know its hard but try not to get stressed, what helped me was to make a list that are "requirements" for the test and what are "would be nice", concentrate on the importantant ones and the nice ones when your able to.

I did them on a white board in the garage and wiped them off as I went.

Hope you get sorted.

Cheers

Rich

I have 14" wheels on my car which is distinctly MK'esque and they fit fine.

14" should be fine for you Jamie.

Have you measured your wings? One is actually narrower? I've not heard this before about MK wings. You sure it's not just your castor.

You sound like you're a bit lonely in your build.... but we've not seen you up at Newlands (near Guildford) as far as I know. There's a bunch of MK buildees at our meets and they'd all offer advice I'm sure!

Cheers,
James

Do yourself a favour and cancel the test. My understanding is 3 days notice is fine (you will get your fee back).

Re-submit your application and relax!

I'm sure you mean camber, but anyway I've made this point to him a couple of times already and he insists it's not the problem. (It's the first thing I would check if I saw the car, though. I had exactly the same thing with an Indy a little while ago, but by the time I'd fitted the pipings and sorted the camber it was Ok with 195/50s)

It does seem that something somewhere is off if you can't fit 195/50/15s. Try measuring from the centre of the chassis to the top and bottom of both wheels, that should tell you very quickly if it is a camber issue. Do MK make more than one width of rear wing to accomodate different wheel widths?? - if so, have they supplied two different sizes by error? it would be very odd if all MK wings were different left to right. Best of luck and chin up.

Space the wing out and put some trim in the gap. Tadpole beading covers a multitude of sins or use some electric cable and clamp it in with the fixing bolts, use your ingenuity. I used a Capri bottom hose and joined it to a straight piece of pipe with 28mm i.d. to get to the radiator.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
