lower camshaft pully on a k series
Hi
i have just lost the crankshaft pully, while driving on my 1800 k series, can anyone advise me if the crankshaft cambelt (crankshaft pully) are the
same ?
as my my local rover dealer advises me, that the 1.4 1.6 1.8 and 2.0 are all different, ?????????????
and i never knew they did a 2.0 !!!
I really need a a lower cambelt pully as its lost all its outer protrusions due to the fan belt pully spinning on it
does this make sense !
regards
steve

The pulley and the sprocket are seperate --- pulleys vary because of different alternator belts, pretty sure all the same post 2000 but models with
air con might be different.
All use the same style poly-vee pulley but count the number of grooves the belt requires.
If you lost the pulley it is almost certain both the pulley and the crank sprocket have been floating on the crank "D" flat --- expect
wear. I would suggest replacing both and if loose on the shaft using either Loctite Stud and Bearing fit ---- the top Red grade for permanent
bonding or Epoxy to make up the wear -- Halfrauds sell it in a little tube.
If the wear is bad it may knock the valve timing slightly out.
You should be able to find a pulley & sprocket in the scrappies as most K engines get the heads robbed off them first by the muppets who think
the heads warp.

Thanks for the reply incredibly the bolt, large washer and pully were held together with the belts, so there still there, but the camshaft belt bottom
"cog" is knackered as its shead off the locating lug for the pully, so im off to the breakers in a while (bloody cold out there!)
