would I need a tank?

currently have: ford 1.3 xflow, cortina rad plumbed in so that rad filler is highest point and with overflow bottle fitted. no heater so manifold plumbed to water pump.

all works fine, but I plan to fit 1.6 xflow and a radiator that has no filler nor overflow bottle.

my measurements show me that the engine will be higher than top of radiator so I presume I would need a bleed form the radiator top?

also I would have no overflow bottle hence I would need expansion tank?

so I would need:
0. expansion tank at highest point in system
1. bleed from radiator to expansion tank?
2. T junction tap into water pump/manifold to expansion tank
3. other - thermostat bleed?

ta.

I have a header tank on mine with a bleed from the top of the rad and an early Fiesta t/stat housing with a bleed off point , also a tee into the water pump/manifold hose. Never have any problems with cooling although I tend to take the t/stat out if filling sytem so that any air escapes, then refit and top up
