Just make sure if the TBs stick out of the bonnet that they meed edge radius requirements.

i had no bother with no air filters on my bike carbs for sva 18 months ago. probably better without, so as not going to run a rich mixture on emmisions

If you're driving to the test I wouldn't.... Running without filters lets all kind off small particle size grot into the engine which will act like a fine grinding paste and knacker the engine super quickly.....

If you're trailering it then maybe...

Otherwise I'd try and fit some ASAP...
