pinto breathing
the pinto that came in our car has had the rocker cover modified to move the oil filler cap I think.
what I am not sure about is if at the same time someone has removed the breather pipe fitting - do they have a breather pipe coming from the rocker
cover as standard.....ie as per CVH's etc?
Currently we only have one breather which is the one from the block just under the carbs (currently breathing to fresh air).
How have people set up the breathing on pintos? Previous experience with modified CVH's tells me to buy a catch tank, weld a new fitting to the
rocker and run both the block and rocker breathers to the catch tank (with filter on catch tank).
But I dunno - whats the norm on a modified pinto (modified in that we're on twin 40's so no recirculation of gases into the intake)?

My pinto's rocker cover does not have the breather outlet but burton power sell a aftermarket cap with an outlet.
As with the breather pipe on the block there was thisthread about it yesterday.

as above, only no need to spend at Burtons, most later pintos had breather caps on with a piped takeoff.
They sell em at Halfords, just take your current cap down there and find on that fits the same hole with a 1/2" takeoff on it

ok I'll check out halfords for a cap with breather outlet on as we need a new cap anyway (missing when we bought it).
Do people run a filter on the catch tank? im just looking on ebay and most tanks dont appear to have the facility to fit one? most look like they
simply have 2 hose connections? but that being the case without a filter the tank will end up pressurised (albeit a tiny amount)?

You really do need a filter on the catch tank  I remember the filter on mine got choked up and it fired oil all over the car when I pulled the
dipstick out!
