Hi all SVA on the horizon now ,
Sva states i need a date for the eng iam using ,
Its a late eightes pinto i think ,so who do i write to if i give them the block num as it came from an unknown doner
address ext .

Ford technical centre are most obliging, send them the engine number and they return the letter next day.

Just get hold of a burtons
catalogue.the data you need is all
there and recognised by examiners
as gospel.i have used mine three times
with no bother.

the first 2 letters of the engine code will tell you - look in the burtons cataloge (they'll send you a copy for free)
its also on the website:

my examiner, said that burton power table is not proof, you need it to say your engine number and what age it is, not just 2 digts, what the eaminer
said to me, if i were you i would write to ford, at least you know you are going to be ok.

If you don't have the V5 then yes you will need a leter from Ford.
For reference:
The 2 letters on the block engine numbers, for Ford run:
A=1980 through to Y=2000
Excluding I,O,Q,and U.
The second letter denotes the month.
They don't run in sequence
