Twin 40s again

After you guys told me to just block up the return fuel pipe on my 2.0 pinto that i am changing to 40s. What do i do with the vacuum pipe from the distributor.
As there is no where for it to go on the manifold do i
A. block up the outlet on the dist end
b. leave it open ended
c, something else.
Do i have to do anything with the moving plate inside the dist, or is there a cheap dist i should be fitting instead, electronic already.
Cheers Richard.

Option 1) Drill / tap a take-off
Option 2) Go megajolt
Option 3) Just blank it off and see how it runs
Option 4) Get a "performance" dizzy that doesn't need the take-off

Option 1) - not great as you will get a loud ticking noise from the dizzy as the pulses of vacuum hammer away at the Vac Adavnce stop inside the dizzy - and it messes up the timing

Options 2 & 4 both good

Option 3 might be ok but will be a compromise between ok at high revs but poor at low revs or the ther way around.

Cheers

Mark

Agreed - my preference of the order in which I would rate them would be
2 - 4 - 3 -1

If you do go for 1, then drill/tap a small take-off for all 4 inlets, join them together and put a little chamber in there to damp the pulses.

I'm a bit more of a traditionalist and I would go for 4-2-3-1

Not sure about the chamber thing as I think that the vacuum would pull air in from the other open tubes (path of least resistance) rather than the vacuum advance. It wouldn't make the noise but then it wouldn't be doing anything

Hi

As mookaloid says above. 4 is the reliable easiest way foward. And H&H do some fabulous dizzy's for us to use in the locost racers with a good advance curve in them they get my recommendation too.

Cheers Matt
