My 1800 silvertop bolts straight to a type 9 box with these parts which most use.
Early mondeo Mk1 220mm clutch kit with a ford capri Mk1 thrust bearing (quinten hazel cct133) also you will need a spigot bush for the
crankshaft.
Part number and more info can be found here, i hope this helps.

As above, 1.8 Mondoe clutch off the bay (£20) with a capri release bearing.
Starter motor of a CVH or DOHC Sierra.

I was in exactly the same boat and even bought all the metal to make the roadster but ended up buying a zero kit, as it seemed better value for money.
Still used the zetec silvertop 1.8 engine though.
Prior to fitting, if you want the best out of the engine, check to see what power it gives out. The silvertop zetecs were prone to sticking hydraulic
lifters, caused by Ford giving the wrong oil type.
Check your engine number ID too. This is stamped into the black, if it is RDA it is 105ps, RKC is 115 ps, RQB is 130 ps. This ps value is almost
equivalent to its bhp.
Obviously you want the best, you can uprate the cams pretty easily so, at this time it is probably best to give the head an overhaul, allows you the
chance to clean out the hydraulica lifters too.
You can change the cams to proper 130 spec ones or just use the 2litre Mondeo cams, almost identical to the 130 spec.
I decided to go down the route of using motorbike carbs, so this list takes into account theses.
One last thing is that the Escort Silvertop is a better choice than the Mondeo one due to the pump and sump being better for the lowness of the
roadster.
What I used:
• Starter motor (I bought a new one then realised that the one that came with the engine was the same as the new one I bought)
• Capri release bearing (MK.I 1600 OHC 72-73 and MKII 1600 OHC 74-ON)
• Sierra spigot bearing
• Pinto clutch
• Capri clutch cable (mark I, II and II)
• Megajolt pack (ECU for the carbs)
• Make sure you have the EDIS module and connector.
• Appropriate inlet manifold (for the carbs)
• Suitable fuel pump, as carbs tend to use less pressure than the standard zetec induction type
Once you have these wired up appropriately and fuelled correctly it should run, mine purrs beautifully!
Hope that helps

Pinto Clutch there?? IMO the zetec flywheel needs redrilling to fit?
As i said 220mm Mondeo clutch of ebay
HERE! not as cheap as I paid but still decent.

I have the pinto clutch mated to the zetec (escort) flywheel with the zetec clutch plate.
If you have a look on here:
Linky
they discuss the flywheel and clutch options. The 1.8 flywheel should fit no probs as did mine, maybe this is an escort - mondeo difference.
I just know that mine all fitted together seemlessly and it works fine no drilling necessary.

No mention of using a Pinto clutch on there, it suggests using the standard Zetec flywheel and clutch?
