type9 bellhousing/bearing/arm
i'm having a bad day..
how do i get the bellhousing, thrust bearing and clutch arm off a type9 box, without brute force, or damage.
it's probably very simple, but i don't seem to be able to see what i need to do.
thanks
Jon

I could do with this info too, it would appear the clutch fork and bearing need to be removed before you can get at the bellhousing bolts, but im not
sure how to take the fork out.

You need to remove the release bearing from the arm. It's held by little tough springs onto the arm. general wiggling will sometimes release it
but you may have to make a U shaped tool to fiddle behind the bearing supports to release the springs. The arm will fall off once the bearing is off.

I used a crow bar but a large screwdriver will do it. Be careful of the springs as they can fly out and have your eyes out You will be replacing the
bearing anyway so dont worry about it.
Its just about impossible to remove the springs properly as you cant see them and they are very hard to get at. Prying the thing off is the only
option.

small flat screwdriver round the back of the arm - two flaps of metal attached to the bearing are spring loaded - as you push the bearing into the arm
they pop open - just do the reverse

Lever off the release arm with a big screwdriver.
You might bend the springs, but new bearings arent expensive.
Release arm will come off easily then you can undo all off the bellhousing bolts.

I tapped the pivot stud out of the bellhousing with a pin punch
