Mix of Zetec cams

got my hands on a 95 zetec 1.8 few weeks ago from a Cabro and it appears to be a XR3i type engine as it had a 240 mm clutch v std 215.

I have now removed the Cam cover and it has a 1.8 130ps intake cam fitted with a 2.0 136ps exhaust cam. is this a normal configuration ????

Hi

That is what became STD on all the 130ps spec engines. Only the very early ones actualy had 130ps spec inlet and exhaust cams. Ford dropped the exhaust after a short time to get better emmisions by replacing it with the 2Ltr one. Hence people upgrade a 105 and 115 spec by fitting STD 2Ltr cams.

The very early genuine 130 spec exhaust cams gave a very small performance increase over the later 2ltr ones. But nothing you would really notice when driving.

Cheers Matt
