Re-using exhaust gaskets
Had to remove my Pinto exhaust manifold to access some brake pipes. Will I get away with reusing the exhaust gaskets after 3k miles or do they need
replacing...?

I'm an engimineer too and we have used ours about 4 times!
It depends really how tight they have been crimped before.

If I had new ones to use I'd use 'em (so cheap its a false economy considering the PITA of having to take off the exhaust system just to
replace some little gaskets). Then again, if not having them was going to stop me finishing a job i wouldn't let it!!!! I'm sure that
could be put more simply!!!

I'd give them a smear of silicone sealer and reuse them. Unless you have a lambda sensor or cat fitted. Then I'd use the expensive cat
friendly sealer....
