who know about turbos (a strange rattle)
my engine has a rattle as if something come loose, if a grab the inlet pipe from the turbo and apply pressure to it in different directions the rattle
goes away, the rattle goes away when you rev the engine.
its as if the turbo has come loose from the manifold, but its tight, the turbine (hot bit) is tight but the compressor has movement, also gas's
are escaping from the turbo, as there is black smoke when the engine starts.
are they supposed to be tight together ?
there must be some turbo experts in the house tonight.
just uploading 3 videos to you tube now.

Yep, your compressor housing is very loose. You ned to tighten the clamp ring that holds the compressor and turbine housings together.

As above there should be a clamp that holds the two halfs together, check that its tight.
What with it being so loose you may have damaged the shaft though.
Good luck

ok i've taken the turbo off and the the two halfs just click together bit like a bayonet light bulb going in to its socket.
looks like it wasnt quite twisted enough to get the 2nd catch, theres lots of carbon around to.
nothing else there to tighten.
video going on you tube in the next 30 mins
shaft has no up down or in out movement

I'm not an expert but all the turbos I've seen have had a similar clamp. You can see the clamp I mean in these pics:
Might be worth googling for images of your turbo to make sure you aren't missing anything.
