It's got two chances!

I'd give it a go then just get Mr RAC to come and collect if it finally lets go. I don't know much about Transits but it may be worth checking if there is any adjustment on the clutch before setting off.

yeah it'll be fine, just take it easy

as above see if you can free any slack in the cable, if it uses one, just to get as much bite as pos

lets hope there's no big hills on the way

Is it against LCB forum rules to run a book on how far you'll make it.

I say no further than Penrith on the M6, some reasonable inclines coming through Lancs and the Lakes on that bit of the M6!

More chance of the cam belt breaking...
Seriously, take it easy, should be OK. You know the consequencies of a failing clutch and the possible damage to flywheel faces and things, it's a reasonable risk that it'll make it home... asumming (of course) that it's a clutch problem and not an oil in the bellhousing problem...

Coca cola is your friend here. Don't know what this tranny's bellhousing is like but if you can get in soak the clutch in coke whilst holding the pedal down. This could make the difference.

Rac won't cover a tranny. I asked when I signed up and was told catagorically NO.
You might get away with it.
I'd chance it what's the worst that can happen??

Is it a duratorq engine one?? Must be as its FWD.

If the flywheel gets hot itl slip like hell and knacker the dual mass. Do you know how bad its slipping?

The tend to slip and go quite quickly!!

Il give you 100 miles max. Make sure your cover will cover a van and drive it but it needs to be in your name. I know the AA will do sod all if youv just bought it and it breaks down so check first.
