Big probelm.
Out for blat and find I cannot change gear.
Crunching noise as I press clutch pedal down,no problems with gear box and clutch appears to bite as before. Any ideas ? has thrust bearing collapsed
?
Zetec, type 9 and everything new 3 years and 12,000 mile ago.

Sound like it, Mike. I take it you can disengage the clutch but just not change gear. Can you change OK with the engine not running?
If so then most likely causes are...
Fraying cable (bite point would normally change).
Failing release bearing.
Worn/breaking clutch fingers.
Cracked presure plate (fingers will be uneven).
Sounds like a box out though whatever. Better get busy if your going to Stoneliegh!

Hi Adrian.
Good to meet up a couple of weeks ago, what was it like on two wheels in the sun ?
Wont be at Stoneleigh as wife has decided she needs a holiday in the sun ( with me).
Changes gear as before with engine not running, if I put it into gear and start engine the "bite" position is as before. If when I have it
in neutral and start the engine there is no noise but as soon as I depress the clutch there is an awfull grinding/crunshing sound and it very
difficult to engage a gear. Sound like engine/box out quite soon.

Majorca was good. I did 500miles in 6 1/2 days on the bike. Came back knackered and with a chest infection.
Sounds like release bearing or worn/broken fingers on the presure plate. Box`out either way.
