Pinto Electronic Ignition

I'm currently running a points dizzy on my 2.0 Pinto powered race car but want a cheapish swap for electronic, I'm assuming some Sierra models had electronic ignition so are these a straight swap and will the advance curve etc be the same, I don't want to be losing power, just gaining a bit of reliability!! I don't suppose anyone has the bits I need for sale do they???

i don't know much about pintos or sierras, but i would assume the electronic ignition was on injected sierras. might not be a simple swap. it depends on whether the ignition and injection systems were seperate or not

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

all pinto sierras had electronic ignition. Look for an escII module one, nice and simple.

Having said that if you dont have probs with the points, I would leave it. But you say its a race car, mapple ignition is the way forward if you want to unlock the power, or get in touch with H&H ignition solutions and see what they have.

I will have a spare electronic pinto dizzy from H&H available in a few months if interested?

Std ford gear will work ok. Davids H+H is a good improvement over std ford for a modded engine. I opted for megajolt in the end, fairly easy and has worked well.
