Timing lights and wasted spark
I am currently attempting to set up a pinto on megajolt I have on loan a snap on timing light the instructions inform me that I need an additional
module to plug in for wasted spark systems I am using it without it reads twice the rpm and when set up on the edis running at 10D before tdc is this
going to give me a true reading or twice the value or more?
Anyone recommend a wasted spark timing light to buy.
Thanks in advance.

Does it have a setting for 2stroke. If so put it on that. Usually works.

As long as you don't use any advance controls on the gun and leave it flashing in sync with the spark it'll be fine. It just means it
flashes every crank revolution instead of every other revolution.

Yeah, with the recounters we had for the karts (honda c90 engine) we had to put it on 2-stoke setting as it has wasted spark.

Thanks yes I see even with a wasted spark I still get a strobe and indication on the crank of the correct timing.
I had used the advance and retard on the timing light and this does not work well due to the additional wasted spark.
thanks.
