zetec manifold gasket

running throttle bods on my zetec, the manifold gasket is steel with lines of sealer round the inlet ports...the ports are connected to each other via the lines of sealer, has anyone blocked these air ways off or should i leave them as they are?

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but the original zetec manifold I have has a ring round each inlet. I was planning to effectively connect the ports on mine, as the idle valve plumbing will be open between inlets

Ours is on bike carbs, but I blocked the airways up with a blob of silicone. Seems fine

think the link between the ports may have something to do with the crank case breather system which goes into the injector plate on the standard zetec manifold, so if not being used shouldnt be a problem blocking it off
