Loss of power

Running zx9r c1 carbs piper cross filter all set up by Boggs. Not had time to take it back but have spoke to them on the phone wonder if any body has ideas in the mean time. Car runs fine pottering around but if I want to really give it some, drop it down and pass someone, it climbs to around 4000 and then starts spluttering, and I think by the smell spits petrol out the carb. If I back off it will recover and slowly continue to rev but can not get it over 6000.

Any ideas? Cheers guys.

either fuel starvation or the timing is out

does it do this while reving it stationary or only under load? if only under load I'd say that was the high speed jets are blocked, otherwise the timing advance is not working

Bike carbs in many cases seem to prefer "still air" accross them. rtaher than turbulent air. Discussed here many times before.
My own experiece is exactly that reported, would not rev out atall even at standstill, with the dynojet kit fitted so plenty rich enough. Put the box back on with new K+N freeflow filter all good again

Don't think timing is out as it would rev with the Weber 40's I had on, about the only thing it would do well. Running omex ignition so advance is programmed into the map.
Not heard of the still air problem!Don't know whether this would make a big difference but the filter sticks out through the bonnet.
