XE T9 cable clutch

Afternoon guys,

I have fitted a cable clutch to my hybrid Vx type 9 setup (ford type 9, Vx pressure plate, ford driven plate, ford clutch fork + release bearing, custom bellhousing). All very similar to the Yuk/SBD/RACE setups.

The clutch pedal is stiff as anything, and wants to spring back strongly to the engaged position. Is this to be expected?

Its bad enough that im worried the car will be undrivable when going up/down through the gears at any speed!

Just back from a blat in mines and although firm Id say it not bad at all. Certainly not as bad as I'd expected it to be when I oushed it by hand whilst in the build process.
Your pedal ratio could be an issue perhaps or just like me you're doing it by hand and wondering will it be fine??
My set up is exactly as yours by the way. only difference will be the pdal ratio perhaps

If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

no this is with my foot while sat inside the car. Its obviously controllable with the strength of your leg if you operate it very slowly - not ideal!

The £300 pedal box I've had to buy from Dax doesnt appear to have the facility to change pedal ratio? I know that sounds stupid, but its designed for hydraulic and cable and has no adjustment on it.

Mmmm the box being for hydraulic won't be helping you. There is a wilwood pull cylinder that it may be better for you to adapt to.

This one

forgive me omega, just done more searching and found this thread http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=108112

i thought the cylinder went in the pedal box, not there! makes sense now. So fit a m/c at the pedal box connected to that slave cylinder and job done?

Thanks a lot.
