Any one got the dimensions of a K series engine
As i may have to go down this route,
the old xflows are building a collection in the garage, and i need the space
seriously i may stick a k series into my 7

and get away from crap ignition and twin 40's

there is a nice little scholar k series on pistonheads which will drag you around quite niceley

I have done the same, some pics in my archive.
I have a spare 1.8 Turbo engine so if you need any dimensions I can give you the ones you want.

I've got a 1.6k sitting in the corner of my garage (not for sale...!) If somebody hasn't come up with the dimensions before, then
I'll put a tape measure over it tomorrow.

Go for a 1.6 or even a 1.4 ---- both are much more free revving than the 1.8

Ok, main dimensions are :-
23.5" to top of cambelt cover, though you can lose up to 1" of the cover if you're tight here.
25" to top of intake plenem. Only relevant of course if you're using the standard intake setup.
20" width, measured from the outsides of the exhaust and inlet manifold.
20" length, measured from the front pulley to the bellhousing mounting face.

True but they don't put 150 bhp out like the 1.8 turbo.

The k series vvc engine is around an inch taller than a regular engine as the cam actuator is above the cam cover and the cylinder head is slightly
taller.
