Type 9 Mount

Hi,
Need some info on the type 9 gearbox mount.
Mine is the two bolts to the chassis style (one each side) and the gearbox drops into the centre of it.
But is there ment to be a bolt threading up into the box to hold it into the mount??

I ask as mine doesn't seem to have anything there but i can see a nice threaded hoel that looks like a bolt shoudl well be sitting in it to hold it all together......

Looking at the vibra tecnics mount (alloy version) Anyone tried this???
cheers again

Yes, there is a bolt that holds the mount into the bottom of the gearbox. Can I also ask a type 9 question? - mine has a bolt where the reverse switch should be - do I just remove this and insert a switch or is it more complicated???.....

I wouldn't bother - have you looked at the old 4 speed mounts (as used by caterham & westfield)
these are a bit smaller, stronger and stiffer than the sierra / granada type ones

and weirdly caterham are about the cheapest place to get them....

thats all assuming that its a sierra one like this that you've got at the moment:

Hi oldtimer
I think the switch just screws in, as it is a plunger switch.
If you need one I think I have one spare somewhere?

no, the 4 speed ones (caterham / wetfield....) are much smaller

probably the same as the vibra tecnics ones though

this is how the sierra ones supposed to fit in the dax

but the 4 speed one actually fits inbetween the chassis rails (I'm going to make some kind of cross member - but it would be easy to weld on a couple of mouning lugs)

I can measure it later if you want

i have one from caterham on the way and am hoping it will fit as mine mounts in between the chassis rails. Not sure if it will fit yet but i am sure something can be made to work.
thanks
