TL1000R emissions

Hi

we are really struggling getting our emmissions correct on our TL1000R engined car. we have put a 200 cell cat on it about 3 feet into the system just before the silencer.

my fear is its not lighting up the cat but as i dont know the official emmissions figures from the TL then we dont know if the thing just isnt running right.

we need to see 0.03 on the CO reading and its currently running at 4.0! the other cat related readings are all high. we have run it up to 105 degrees water temp but this didnt really effect anything. what we havent done is screamed the nips off it to see if it gets hot.

what have you other BEC builders done for yours. we only have 6 weeks till the SVA retest date runs out so were getting twitchy!

oh, we do have a power commander 2 on it so can adjust maps if anyone has one

it does have a dirty great pipercross filter on it too with the origonal air box taken off but all sensors are where they should be!

It should be lower than 4 even without the cat I'd have thought. Does it have a lambda sensor to control the mixture? Check the coolant temp. sensor is working.

coolant temp sensor is def working. it has no lambda control but we can get lambda readout to 1.000 with the PC2

Is the CO high with the lambda spot on? If you adjust the PC to get the CO down does the lambda go high? V twins have an enormous exhaudt pulse which pulls fresh air back up the tail pipe leading to daft lambda readings. You may have to put a shroud on your tail pipe or restrict the opening to stop fresh air being drawn back up to the test probe.
But first off get the cat hot by revving it. Don't let it try to heat on idle as your oil will just be picking up unburnt hydrocarbons. You will know when it's lit up as the CO will drop quite rapidly. The numbers you mentioned before would suggest that the cat isn't lit.
