Help Im having a Gear box Cyrsis

Hi all Im Having a very concerning crysis

Iv got the car up on the stands at the moment and have just been doing abit of testing and basicly when i let the clutch out to engage drive it really nice comes up to the bite, wheels start turning etc etc then once the cluch is about halft the 3 quarteres out i get a horrible grinding, clunking noise from the gear box,

Engine is a 2002 honda super blackbird.

Any ideas, i have a feeling its quite serious hoping its something to do with the clutch rather than the gear box itself, unfortunetly i now very little about gear boxes.???

Thanks Tilly

Drop the car to the ground and see if you still have the problem.

have you taken the clutch cover off for a looksee?

Locost tip - If you get the front of the car up on ramps, then you won't loose all the oil - or drop it first and recycle it through a strainer. (or just use new oil...)

I think the blackbird is the same as most other bikes and has the clutch actuator built into the clutch case - check all is right there as a first port of call.

Take the clutch plates out, check them all over

Same with the basket (might need a "special" tool to get certain lock washers off)

Check it all over and report back.

I think (though can;t gaurentee) that it will be the clutch - becuase if the gearbox was goosed it would always make a funny noise when it was under load, not a certain point AFTER the bite point.

Have you done anything do it you havn't mentioned?
