Duratec alternative flywheel resolved

With some help from beaver34 I have been able to find out what the duratec flywheel I have is.

The part number is:

5S6G-6K390-BA

And it is fitted as std to the 2.0 Focus and 2.0 Fiesta ST. There was a lot of raving about the flywheel on the ST Fezzie when it came out saying it was a lot lighter than the std duratec dual mass one. This must be the difference.

All the old 220mm clutches fit the flywheel (zetec/cvh) making HD clutches easy to come by, or std ones for normal power very cheap (~£30 for a mondeo one). I fitted a HD cover plate from an RS turbo which should take 300+bhp.

One word of caution, the flywheel is slightly smaller than the dual mass on the mondeo. The fiesta, focus and mondeo all use different starter motors. So unless you want to mod the motor (easy enough) you need a starter from a fiesta ST as well.

Hope that helps

Cheers,
David

I reckon that would fit too, but the ring gear would need to be moved.

I dont think it will as your titan one is for 215mm clutches and this is a 220mm.

My cover plate is a CP5905-2. The bolt and dowel holes are on a 242mm PCD. 230lb/ft torque capacity.

The Duratec (aftermarket - Titan, Raceline etc) pressure plate is a CP5905-1 which is actually for an MG ZR 160 with a torque capacity of 178lb/ft.

I am not aware of another pressure plate which fits the titan/raceline flywheels at the moment with any higher torque capacity. But now you know what car its designed to fit you might be able to find something?

Cheers,
David
