Coolant reservoir rules
Just want to check before i take it further, am i right in thinking the coolant reservoir has to be transparent and hold at least one litre?
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Cool, that means i will be able to use my power steering reservoir as it is black and about 300ml but the outlets are the right size
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

You’re just making up new rules now

There are no requirements for coolant reservoirs - it's not safety or environment related.
The washer bottle must be at least 1 litre but there's no requirement about being transparent.

No rules, but remember water expands about 4% by volume from 20 to 100C...
So for 300ml expansion space the most coolant would be 300ml*(1/1.04)= 7.5 ltrs..
And that's without any air in the system..
My CVH has around 9ltrs; I guess the Jag engine must be similar? You are going to need a 1ltr or more to get it to work unless you have a separate
expansion bottle on the pressure cap outlet..
